Project Kanu was founded to provide meaningful support for small farmers, agroforestry, and regenerative land care by creating a system where community members and visitors sponsor food-producing, carbon-sequestering trees grown at partner nurseries and shared with underrepresented growers. Now, a few years on as its own 501(c)(3) nonprofit, Project Kanu focuses on facilitating the big-picture transfer of wealth into measurable, impactful projects centered on environmental stewardship, food security, and climate resilience.
